Indecent Excision (IT) - Deification of the Grotesque (2011)

Released on: Grindethic Records

Tracklist:

1. The Genesis Of Inhuman Brutality
2. Entwined By Vermin, Submerged By Vomit
3. Purulent Glansectomy
4. Torment Through Abnegation Of Euthanasia
5. Sculpture Of Severed Remnants
6. Deification Of The Grotesque
7. Compulsive Consumption Of Rotten Entrails
8. Decomposed Fetus Collection
9. Kaleidoscopic View Of Innards
10. Chickenfuck

Aww yeah. The Italian Brutal Deathers of Indecent Excision did a new album after their
brutal 2009 EP. Deification of the Grotesque is a massive, Brutal Death Metal assault with blast beat brutality and ultra heavy grooving and slamming parts. The vocals are just so sick and so ultra guttural it's a real pleasure to listen to the exellent vocal work. As said Indecent Excision isn't one of those slam only bands, they have really brutal and fast parts in there which really create a great dynamic sound.
I have to say that this album deserved a way better drum sound (or a better drum machine actually). This really is the little drop of bitterness in the album. As a whole this is such a great album you definitely have to get.

Albums and bands like this are the reason why the Italian BDM scene is one of the scene's with the highest quality of music on earth. A must.

Syphilic (USA) - A Composition of Murder (2011)

Country: USA (Detroit, Michigan)
Released on: Sevared Records

Tracklist:

1. A Composition of Murder I 01:45
2. A Composition of Murder II 02:26
3. A Composition of Murder III 03:17
4. A Composition of Murder IV 02:20
5. A Composition of Murder V 02:35
6. A Composition of Murder VI 04:50
7. A Composition of Murder VII 04:48
8. A Composition of Murder VIII 02:22
9. A Composition of Murder IX 02:30
10. A Composition of Murder X 03:05
11. A Composition of Murder XI 04:12
12. A Composition of Murder XII 02:44
36:54

So the new Syphilic came out and I've ordered it of course having real high expectations of this. The previous albums were great but with A Composition of Murder the dood really excelled himself. The album actually seems to be one 37 minute long song devided into twelve parts on the album itself. And composition is really the right word for the album, the dood (constantly forgetting his name) creates somewhat like a collage of everything what Syphilic stands for peppered with a huge amount of creativity, complexity and mere brutality. The guitar work is so unique and awesome you just hear that it's Syphilic in the moment the music kicks in. Chaotic, bit melodic guitar structures with blasting and diversified drumming, moments of silence with guitar only and the insanely guttural and deep as fuck vocal work which is just sick. This is what this album is in a nut shell. An album of enormous creativity, speed, pace changes and really sick gutturals.

His best album so far and something you don't want to miss.

Bloodboil (NL) - Festering Fornication (2006)

10.     Excreting Your Digested Meat     02:53
      26:07

Great Brutal Death from the Netherlands. This is the last record they've made
back in 2006 and they still exist according to Metal Archives. Would be great
to hear some new stuff of them because this is really high quality Brutal Death.
High speed blasting BDM which sounds pretty US-style to me. The vocals
are deep and pretty much in the style of Pyaemia (also from the Netherlands).
The quality of the sound is very good, really enjoyed listening to this.
All in all perfectly executed Brutal Death which has got far too few attention.

Highly recommended underground stuff.

Stabwound (SWE) - Human Boundaries (2004)

Country: Sweden (Gothenburg)

2.     Devouring Deficiency     03:02
3.     Red Worms Erected     02:32

9.     Unspeakable Perversions     02:36
10.     Aqualung     02:38
      27:11

Legendary Brutal Death Metal band Stabwound are one of the very best of their kind from Sweden. On their 2004 record Human Boundaries they convince with furiously grooving Brutal Death (not so much slamming as Soils of Fate, more the groove BDM à la Dying Fetus) with incredible vocals and interesting song writing. The vocal work is just amazing and perfectly fits together with the ultra-groove music. The production is a bit muddy but still good. The Swedish scene isn't the biggest, but with pearls such as Degrade, Soils of Fate, Stabwound, Obscene and others it really built up a good reputation.

This absolutely is a must have for every BDM fan. Too sad the band broke up.

7.     Punish Prophecy     03:18
8.     Man Shall Abolish     10:56
      33:58

The fact that I didn't ever hear anything about those guys is another beautiful proof how immensely big the BDM underground is. So I guess I will never stop digging in the depths of the internet on my search for awesome music to recommend to you.
Limb from Limb create some awesome Brutal Death Metal on their 2007 release Rip him from his fucking Throne. Blasting brutality, wierd and dismal melodies in the guitars and really heavy deep as fuck growls, which are perfectly done mixed with some highs. Honestly, it is so refreshing to hear some awesome blasting Brutal Death with high speed, awesome vocals and great technique. There is way too much slam around these days (I like the style, but the focus is definitely too much on the slam).
The drums seem programmed to me, correct me if I'm wrong. That makes them sound a bit too mechanic. The production is good.
The last song is useless because it's just some atmospheric sounds with a bit of music in it. And that for ten minutes, which is a complete fail. But anyway, just skip that track and you've got an awesome Brutal Death release.
I've just read that these guys are currently busy with a new album (just about time after I'd say after 4 years of doing nothing). So stay tuned if you like this one.

Absolutely recommendable blasting piece of Brutal Death from Australia.

I just discovered this awesome old Brutal Death/Grind band from San Salvador, which was founded in 1993 and don't exist anymore now. The album mixes groove, grindish parts (especially the vocals with some Goregrind effects on them from time to time - I don't like that normally but here it's okay) and some really awesome riffing.
The production isn't that good but it sounds just dirty and awesome with it. I think the music has a subliminal old school touch to it which really rules. I think some of you maybe won't like this release as much as I do, but I don't know. I'm kind of in love with the whole sound and the band.

Anyway, if you like your Brutal Death with some Grind influences (the sound reminds me of Dying Fetus a bit) then you should buy (!) this (Google helps) and check it out.

7. Approach of the Enemy 04:51
8. Hellraiser (Motörhead Cover) 03:28
9. Solid State (Obituary Cover) 04:49
31:54

My newest recommendation for you is an exellent Russian underground BDM band called Membro Genitali Befurcator (took a while for me to learn the name).
Blasting BDM with a whole lot of grooving all over the album. The production is clear and nice to listen to. The vocals are kind of Abominable Putridity style, very deep growls. Very good job on the mic, but in my opinion the vocals could have been a smidge louder. The groove is really dancable and just wants you spin your dick around. Definitely something to listen to in your car.
They covered two tracks on the album, one is Hellraiser from Motörhead and one is Solid State from Obituary.
Both covers are pretty awesome especially the Hellraiser cover. It sounds like a BDM version of a Debauchery song. Brutal Death'n'roll man. That rules.

And again Russia flexes it's BDM muscles with another exellent underground act. What a great scene.

9.     Living Decomposition     03:10
      24:13

Pissmaster is reviewing the new Putridity record? Uhm, yeah why not? Damn, their record is currently played about 130 times a week on lastfm. Is Pissmaster going overground now? Haha, yeah a lot of you probably heard about this master piece, but for those of you who haven't read this carefully.
This album is the best Brutal Death Metal album (together with Defeated Sanity - Chapters of Repugnance) I know.
Hyper blast beat and double base madness with super cool guitar work and just insane vocals create such an incredibly high intensity that you just want to jump around and want to freak out. Slams? Mid-tempo bullshitting? Long and boring samples? Fuck no! Putridity just destroy the place with this pure sonic Brutal Death Metal bomb. Their former album was pretty good but this is a real must have if you love BDM! Yeah the album is pretty short, but hey. I don't think that it's healthy to have a stiff one for longer than 30 minutes anyway.
If you read the review about this album on Metal Archives and don't think something like 'common you fuckin retard, go fuck yourself' or 'what the fuck man are you deaf?' then please reconsider if you really like this music or prefer to go listen some Hammerfall instead.

A must have. One of the best albums in BDM I know.

4.     Voluntad de Poder     06:45
      19:34

Wow. Really stoked on this piece of high quality underground Brutal Death. Absolutely super album from Bellum, a BDM band from Chile. Blasting, brutal and skilled compositions. A tragedy, that such bands don't get the attention they deserve (see post below). Alright, the album is basically fast and blasting with a lot of pace changes and playful guitar work (not too much, so don't expect some Technical Death Metal epileptic stuff) and some dismal melodies here and there. The drumming is fine and blasting and the music is evidence of good musicianship. The production is suprisingly good and sounds just great. The vocals are deep growls like of some older US-Brutal Death band. Really great job on the mic. I love the song writing. Really a pleasure to listen to this CD. Hot underground stuff!

I've really been enjoying this since yesterday and ordered the CD right away (ebay). Great stuff and you have to check it out.

Concerning BDM: It's the same over and over again...not!

Several reviews on Metal Archives, blogs, reviews of some silly music journalists or wanna-be critics or  statements of people in general are constantly rattleing my cage. The statement that bands which don't invent something completely new or don't do something that hasn't been done before by another band, aren't good at all. Typical phrases of such people are: 'I didn't like that band because they just copied Suffocation/Devourment/or any other influental over ground band., or 'That band ain't good cause it's the same Chug, chug, grunt, grunt, squeal over and over again.'
I absolutely can't understand these people. Here is why. Discuss with me if you want.
The music I love the most is Brutal Death Metal and I love the music of bands that play this style. There is a huge underground which I like to discover with thousands of bands that create brutal and awesome music. And 99% of the bands have their very own and unique sound. Oh yes they do. Of course they are not inventing something completely new and yes they do sound similar to other bands of the genre but that's just because it is the same fucking genre. When I listen to a new band I've discovered I don't think about what they're doing new or adding to the BDM style because that's not what I want. I want Brutal Death Metal and I don't want some progressive bullshit in that because it's mostly so forced and just sounds awful. I like a band for the music they create and I don't constantly try to compare their music to a hand full of bands of which I think that they invented a fucking style of riffing or a vocal style and are legends in the scene. Actually a lot of these well-known bands are completely over-rated and dealt with as if they actually represented a whole genre.
Every band is different and to constantly dismiss the thousands of underground bands which create awesome music and create their very own Brutal Death sound (of course you won't hear that if you just listen to one song a couple of minutes and then just throw it away) just because you are too lazy to search it and just because you want some grand label to put the stuff in front of you and you want to listen to the same hand full of 'classic' records all the time, is something I never will understand.
People with this attitude are everything, but not supporters of the underground or even true music lovers.
They don't support the bands that may not be so known and may 'copy' another band but create awesome songs, but the ones that were the first to play a damn style and simply have better marketing schemes.
I oftenly prefer some underground band with 300 listeners on lastfm to Suffocation with 100.000 listeners on lastfm (just for comparison). Not because I don't like Suffocation but because I simple think that a certain band creates better songs and music than Suffocation (just an example).
I think it's time to be curious, listen closely to unknown sonic treasures that may exist and to support the underground for the underground is the blood of Brutal Death Metal.
Thank you.

Woundeep (JAP) - Weapons of Mass Protection (2005)

Country: Japan (Suginami-ku, Tokyo)
Released on: self-released

Tracklist:

1.     4 Religions, 7 Seas And The 9th Article     03:08
2.     The Inevitable Is Here     02:49
3.     Color Of Betrayal     03:29
      09:26

I want to introduce to you one of the best Brutal Death demos I've ever heard. Japanese Woundeep play top quality BDM with a super production and great song writing. The songs are full of blast beat brutality parts with some slower groove parts. The song writing is dynamic and interesting and so is the riffing. The drummer really does a good job. The vocals are brutal and deep as fuck. Really great job on the mic too. And this band has created one of the best Brutal Death Metal songs I know (!). Check out The Inevitable is Here. Immense blasting with abnormal screams and a groove or slam part which really gets you going. Just a perfect song. And a absoutely great demo all together.

This Demo is a must-have for lovers of high quality underground music.

Mortal Possession (GER) - Negate (2011)

Country: Germany (Kiel)
Released on: self-released

Tracklist:

1.) Incept   4:21
2.) Spun   3:37
3.) Violand   3:22
4.) Banefeeder   3:21
5.) The Lie of Being Me   4:15

Total playing time:   18:56

This is not so much Brutal Death Metal but more 'normal' Death Metal, but still brutal enough to be on this blog. Hailing from the north of Germany, Mortal Possession play brutal, technically good and fast Death Metal with cool song-writing and awesome riffing. Subliminal dismal melodies and the omnipresent hammering blast beats create a pleasant intensity. Some groove parts like in 'Banefeeder' and especially at the beginning of 'The Lie of Being Me' add extra dynamic to the music. The vocals are near to perfect brutal vocals reaching from standard deep Death Metal growls to agressive highs. The production is just awesome for a demo.

I am glad to recommend to you this outstanding demo and I hope you import some German quality. Really curious about a possible full-lenght of this band.

Finally a new review. Been busy with vacation, computer games, working and other useless stuff instead of concerning with the most important thing on earth: Brutal Death Metal. This time I got some Swedish underground BDM for you. Sweden doesn't have the best scene but there are some really awesome bands though.
The demo 'Laceration of the Unborn' by Obscene has a lot of blasting brutality in it with some awesome slamming. The riffing sounds pretty much like old school Death Metal riffing which is cool with the slamming and the BDM vocals which are really awesome. The low growls and pig squeals are just pleasing my ears. The production is harsh but sounds cool and it contributes to the old schoolish riffing.
A real pity they split up, this Demo is so promesing and awesome.

You have to check this out. Great stuff!

Guts Outward (UA) - Unexpected Death (2009)

Country: Ukraine
Released on: guess self-released
Tracklist:

01 - Fucking Hope 1:10
02 - Confidence 1:48

One man blasting brutality Guts Outward from Ukraine show how immensely heavy as fuck slamming is done.
Incredibly awesome and sick vocals, heavy guitars, massive slams, blasting brutality and a sick production are the ingredients of Guts Outward. This demo consists of two songs and is merely 2:58 minutes long, but this guy seems to have a lot of talent. I'm very glad to see that he is currently recording an EP. Definitely looking forward to that.

Absolutely recommended heavy as fuck slam demo!
